R.E.A. Homes - Town and Country Property

town and country

Follow the progression of our most recent green home project.
Our current home in Town & Country, will feature many of the latest trends in green homes, including:

  • Low-E Windows – Low-emissivity windows are the most energy efficient windows available by offering year round thermal protection to allow for greater control of solar heat gain, without interfering with visibility.

  • Geothermal HVAC System – Geothermal heating and cooling systems take advantage of the earth’s temperature to heat and cool a home using less energy, no gas emissions and low operating and maintenance costs.

  • Whole House Automation – Automation of the home gives owners control of systems such as lighting, HVAC, appliances, security and monitoring, home entertainment and lawn sprinklers from a remote location.

  • Spray Foam Insulation – The use of spray foam insulation is an environmentally-friendly method for reducing fuel used in home insulation.

  • Fiber Optics – Fiber optic cable throughout the home delivers the faster broadband speeds for home office and entertainment communications.

“Wall panels are the perfect compliment for the "green" builder. All wall components used in the Claymark home were precision cut at a state of the art shop. At the shop, they are securely held in place and nailed so that gaps between wall components all but disappear compared to those cut on a home site. These tighter tolerances cut down on air infiltration, even before insulation is added, promoting less air leaks. The controlled work environment of a shop keeps waste down as well, saving materials and the environment.”

John Mattingly Jr. - Mattingly Lumber

“Recently, we added the new Energy Saver Plus package from JELD-WEN Windows to the Claymark home. The windows will help keep the house energy efficient with a traditional “soft coat” of LowE between the panes of the glass as well as a hard coat on the exterior of the windows. This dual coat system allows for some of the most efficient thermal ratings available in a house.”

Ryan Ozbun - JELD-WEN Windows

“The home automation technology in the Claymark home provides an energy-saving option allowing lights, appliances, the temperature of rooms and even the pool, to be controlled by the home owners from a touch screen or even their iPhones, while delivering superior comfort, convenience and maximum efficiency.”
