Green Verification Process Often times our clients request their homes be built to third party green programs. At REA Homes we have a thorough knowledge of the three major national green building programs, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), NAHB Green Building (National Association of Home Builders) and ENERGY STAR (federal government program). The benefits to building a home to one of these standards includes third party inspection and verification of the homes actual performance. We currently have projects enrolled in all three of these programs. As an example we recently completed a home in Creve Coeur that achieved Silver level verification through the NAHB Program. Jeff Bogard, president of REA Homes, has joined nearly 4,000 Certified Green Professionals across the country with his recent completion of the Certified Green Professionals program. The Certified Green Professional (CGP)™ designation, administered by The National Association of Home Builders, recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who are committed to building green homes. Participants in the CGP program complete coursework designed to teach building industry professionals strategies for incorporating green building principles into homes using cost-effective and affordable options. Understanding that the future trend is living green, the CGP certification provides a greater understanding of sustainable building techniques, knowledge of methods to achieve higher energy efficiency, and marketing and sales tools specifically tailored to green building. Jeff’s CGP designation proves his commitment to green building by sharing with consumers the enhanced environmental impact, increased performance and health benefits of green homes.
R.E.A. Homes was honored to be selected as the only home builder represented at the Missouri Botanical Garden’s year-long exhibit called EarthWays “Living The Green Life.” The exhibit highlighted the importance of sustainable living. |
